Accommodation options include Forest Rest Houses, Cabins, Hutments, Annexes, and Log Huts (with bunk beds). It provides a rustic, non-luxury stay but promises a memorable experience due to the location amid dense wildlife. Managed by the Forest Department, it offers breathtaking views of nature and wildlife.
Dhikala Booking Procedure
Booking requires personal details (name, age, gender, ID proof) and advance payment. Availability is confirmed 90 days before arrival. Local tour operators assist with bookings but are not responsible for service quality at the forest rest houses operated by the department.
Jungle Safari Options
Gypsy Safari: A popular option to explore the wilderness and spot a variety of wildlife, including tigers. Can be done in several tourism zones like Bijrani, Jhirna, Durgadevi, Dhela, and Sitabani.
Canter Safari:
Best for larger groups (15-20 people). Offers an exploration of the Dhikala Tourism Zone, which is known for its rich tiger population. A safe and open-roof vehicle that ensures a good view of wildlife and the landscape. Operated in two shifts by Corbett forest officials. Jeep Safari is available only within the Corbett Sanctuary Zone. Though it’s threatening but, you will enjoy the night-time panorama immensely. There are many zones out here that will give you a jeep safari to experience the sights of the region. The Morning Safari timings are from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM during winter and in summer, 5:30 AM to 8:30 AM. And, the evening safari timings are from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM during winter and in summer, 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
